You remain silent through Wriggles sulking.
"Come now, Wriggle. It's not so bad. I'll be able to train you again soon if you stick to the program."
"Ah, alright. Wriggle says. "But what about him?" She asks, jerking a thumb in your direction.
"Eh?" Yuka asks. "What about Sunny?"
"Why are you training a normal human? It doesn't make sense."
"He's not a normal human." Yuka says. "Suffice it to say, who I train is my choice."
"All right. I understand." Wriggle says. She still seems a bit dejected and judging by the glances she keeps throwing your way, she will just take it out on you.
"For now he's a visitor and my guest." Yuka says with a hint of frustration in her voice.
"Ah! that reminds me! I saw that strange girl hanging around your house." Wriggle says
"eh? Really? What strange girl..." Yuka says with a frown at the news. "Well... Lets take a break for now."

You take a seat on a nearby rock while Yuka goes to confer with Wriggle in private. It occurs to you with your new enhanced senses through magic you could listen in to what they are saying, or perhaps it would be best to just sit and rest as Yuka says.

"The day he fell from the sky is one I won't forget." The voice unexpected as we huddled around the campfire in the dark trying to stay warm. The speaker a fellow refuge we've come to know as a silent type that keeps to herself. Earlier in this blasted night we were swapping stories with one another to make the darkness seem lighter and now that the children have gone to sleep we had gotten a bit more daring with our stories.

"My teacher was the one who found him, in her garden, and nursed him back to health. I met him later. The thing I remember most about him was his warmth. Well, besides his confusion to the world around him as if seeing everything new for the first time. He was... gentle and if I'm honest I think I liked him too, but not like my teacher did. She came to adore him and he her." she says, looking slightly sad as she begins her tale.

Several of the men who had left the fire to seek refreshment have come back now to listen. We didn't know it yet but the tale we were hearing was one that we wouldn't forget.

"I remember how funny he was. The time when we went out to celebrate his learning to fly at Miss Fujiwara's pub, and he didn't know what alchohol was. He got so drunk he flirted with Miss Fujiwara, right in front of teacher. He ended up making Teacher so mad that night that she snapped her parasol. I remember how he apologized to teacher with that lovely new one made made just for her and they made up and while they acted like nothing happened the next day we knew that they were together that night."

"He was a great friend to me, a wonderful sparring partner and kind to my friends. He never treated us like a nuisance or a bother and when Cirno dragged him out to play with us he made time. I remember when it started. When he started to remember things that confused him. It happened the first time when he was sparring with me and he knocked me flat. I remember afterwords he was so confused that he walked in on me while I was bathi--" she suddenly stops and turns red.

She sweeps around, challenging us to say something but the folk around the fire know better and are too enthrall

Nice to have around
It's been too long, and I apologize if this seems rushed, but I need to get something going if I want to hit some kind of stride.

---

Thankfully the doctor goes back to playing with that gun of hers instead of pressing the issue any further than she already has. The possibility of arming every rabbit in Eientei with what amounts to a... Wait a sec, she's undoing a bit of the weapon. There's some manner of small freezer unit in there, a spiral cut on the interior of the barrel that looks like it could easily sharpen anything put inside it. There's some manner of runic on the inside as well, which would most likely stop the object placed within from getting ground down too far. ...I hate to steal an idea from someone else, but I think that runic might come in handy later. I memorize it for later.

"Oh, interested in this?" Eirin holds up the weapon in question and slips a carrot into it before closing the barrel. "You wouldn't need something like this to fight, it's slow, impractical, and would show a level of care for yourself that you don't normally have." She's taking a rather annoying turn in the conversation, but she's hopped up on caffine and heaven knows what else. "On a more serious note, this really wouldn't suit you. You're more a melee fighter, and from what I know, you're a rather good one at that." She fires it once more at Jack, who merely jiggles like a ragdoll in response. It's kind of unnerving to see the body react like that, but it does give me a better idea of how that trick works.

She sits still for a few more moments, then promptly falls over. Everyone else is staring at her, some out of concern, and some out of amusement, but in a way all are relieved to hear that she's simply snoring. "Excuse me, I should put master to bed before she gets a cramp laying like that." Reisen got up and went over to Eirin's side, picking her up in a bridal carry and taking her off to bed. "I'll have to tend to her for a bit... Can you see yoursleves out when you wish to leave?" She doesn't seem to like the idea of forcing me to fend for myself

Behold, the glorious second thread with a swank new name! Just when you reach Mission Three, too.

She has another! And also Ezio's.

[x]Succumb to the adorableness and show them the love they so desperately deserve.
[x]Take the children with you and treat them as your own.

This heartfelt display of emotion stirs something inside of you. You can feel your tough guy mask fade away in a split second. These children...so small, so young. They need someone to love them, to take care of them. Why not let it be you? You walk up to the girls and give them a big hearty hug, snuggling against both of them.

You pick them up and swing them around a bit, clearly enjoying yourself more than you probably should be. You bring them over to Momiji and ask her if you can keep them. Both she and Patch look at you dumbfoundedly. They probably think you're joking, but you're dead serious. When the girls ask Momiji themselves, she gives up and allows it. You and your new charges all cheer and do little victory jig!

There's just one little thing you still need to do. You don't know either of these girls' names. You ask with a bit of hesitation. All four of them laugh at you in varying degrees, but you do get your answer. The elder is Sofia, and the younger is Penelope. You and your party introduce yourselves as well. Now that you're all acquainted you can finally leave this crazy place of overpowered weaponry and respawning demons.

SECRET MISSION: COMPLETE!

You open a gap back to the Scarlet Devil Mansion. Patchouli thanks you for helping her research. She learned not only about another world, but some of its magic as well. She gives you a quick kiss on the cheek and floats off before Momiji gets the chance to chew her out. Sofie and Pen just giggle a bit at the half-hearted anger. You can't help but laugh yourself. This just serves to get Momiji riled up more as you make your way back to the treehous

This is an attempt to instill a little life and fun here. A pointless story that will be updated quickly, with no update ever exceeding 1000 words. This first post will be up for at least 6 hours before I continue. Subsequent updates will come when either there's enough votes or the time limit is reached. Write in votes are welcome when appropriate and not utterly pointless and destructive.

“On with it, come on.”

The blonde woman urges you on with a wave of her fan. The three... gaps behind you shimmer with a phantasmagoria of color. She grins, her mouth soon covered by the open fan. You stare at her, not quite able to come to grips with all that's happened in the last hour or so. This definitely is the last time you'll ever help a lost stranger to her destination. Before you knew it you were falling and then you were here.

You're in some sort of dark place, the only light coming from invisible sources. The woman seems to be in control of this place, standing a few paces away with one of gloved hands casually holding an ornate parasol. She closes the fan with the other hand. Her explanation was brief and left more questions than gave answers.

“I really don't want anything to do with you, so just take me home already.”
“You're no fun.” She acts as if hurt by your words, the arm with the fan goes to her hip. “Here I am doing you a favor and all I get is ingratitude.”
“Look, I don't know if you're just a pervert or what but can I at least have my clothes back?” They disappeared sometime in between falling and landing. You've been in the buff, completely exposed to this woman. Not that she seems to care much, only occasionally looking somewhere she shouldn't be.
“What a bore. But I suppose I can do at least that much.” A simple dark grey cloak, and unisex shirt and pants falls from above to your feet. A pair of sandals follow. Not your clothes, but she already knew that. “Now go through one of those lovely gaps.”
“Why should I?”

You begin to get dressed, welcoming the return of your modesty.

“I am giving you a chance to make the most of yourself. Any opti

Didn't want to reply any more after a lot of things came up, but I hate leaving loose ends. No more updates. The goal of livening the place up seems to be accomplished, even without me continuing this story. So I'm satisfied with that.

Besides, it's not like there's a lot of attachment to something as decidedly silly and directionless as I intended this to be. You'll be fine anon.

Ah, answer time will come later. It's a little late for me to be writing too much now.

---

"Two things. One, I'd like to have you give me another danmaku lesson since I still need training in that regard, and two, I've thought up something regarding magic-based emergency generators and want someone to run the ideas by." Since she's not going to direct the conversation back towards something I'm not comfortable with, I may as well take advantage of it to do something productive.

"Danmaku?" Keine raises an eyebrow as she considers it. "It's too cold out there to do anything, so it'll have to be theory or smaller scale practical demonstrations. I know you can't do too much danmaku-wise, but it doesn't take much to damage something."

"Theory would just lead to testing, so I think it would be better to cut out the middleman and work on small, practical demonstrations." I stand up straight after setting the cup down, and wait on the teacher. No sense leaving her behind when she's the one who's supposed to be teaching me the fine art of firing non-lethal magic.

Keine nods in turn, setting her cup down and walking past me. "Well then, I'll teach you in the guest bedroom. There isn't much there to damage should you lose control." I follow her since that's a fairly clear indicator that she wants me to come with her. "I am glad you're taking your danmaku training seriously. I know you're more comfortable with alchemy, but knowing how to diffuse a situation without resorting to lethal combat is something you need to learn before you get stuck fighting something you can't deal with."

"I had to acknowledge it sooner or later, didn't I? I rather enjoy living and don't like the concept of dying before my time. Then there's the fact that certain parties might go so far as to beat me back into existence." I may have rolled my eyes there, but Keine can be... Rather interesting in her threats at times. Not to mention that she could probably rewrite history to where I don't die, then clobber me anyway for m

You know what they say: The more the merrier. And the more people working on this at once, the less likely I am to accidentally blow myself up to the point where no one can put me back together because I overlooked something so fundamentally simple. And to that end, I need to fix something for lunch as technically they are my guests as well as called in help. "I'll set about making lunch then. Anything in particular?"

Marisa does little more than smile at me mischievously before turning back to her part of the work. "I know you well enough to trust that you'll make something good without my tellin' ya what I want. Nitori'll want something with cucumbers, but I think you can get away with using them in a drink of some sort. Stay away from anything with alcohol though, that'll do more harm than good." She all but slaps the back of the kappa next to her.

Said kappa made an annoyed huff noise as she turns to look at Marisa. "Are you saying I can't hold my liquor? I'll have you know I could drink a barrel and still be able to work on this!" Is Nitori really that prideful of her ability to hold booze?

"Yeah, but can you do something other than make these explode?" Marisa points to the casings in a matter of fact- Wait, when did those get made? The witch catches sight of my disbelief and responds in kind. "Heh, don't worry, Nitori does this kind of thing all the time. Turns out she had a bunch of ready components for this with really simple assembly instructions." That grin of hers would be more suited to a shark... What's gotten into her? I roll my eyes as I mentally slap myself. It's a possible weapon of mass destruction, of course she's going to get worked up over it.

Letty seems to show at least a passing interest in this, but there's nothing there yet. No sudden insight like she did when I was having trouble with my jacket, but that took time and I don't know what the exact triggers were. In that case, I decide to leave her be for the time being and work on lunch as I said I was going to.

I step into the kitchen and think up something that wouldn'

Salutations, anon. Here's some words in somewhat coherent order that may or may not depict a certain sequence of events depending on your input.

~~~~~
You are a youkai, albeit a very tired and sore one. Rather weak at the moment as well, though you'd never admit it to anyone. You see, you currently have...amnesia! But not just any amnesia, oh no. This is a magic-induced youkai amnesia! The gap youkai told you it was like "Samus" losing her upgrades at the start of every game, but you didn't have a clue what she meant. You've never heard of any game like that. Nor anyone named Samus. You asked if she meant ol' Seamus in the village with the bad eye, funny accent, and overpowering fishy scent...wait this has nothing to do with your plight!
Odd-smelling barkeepers aside, you decide that enough is enough and that you must cure this terrible affliction. You'll have to leave this stupid treehouse one day. But you'll need a name, so people have something to put on your tombstone(s) call you by in the meantime.
I really want to make Ivan answer for this by helping me bring Rumia down, but I have to be realistic. He's a fledgling in terms of danmaku and magic, and he doesn't have any equipment to help him out. He's nothing more than a liability at this point and I don't want to have to be the one to tell those close to him that my actions brought about his death. ...Not to mention that I'd feel like crap over it. I can't think of anything worse than making a decision that ends the life of a friend. Especially one who donates and cares. "Yukari, snag Ivan too. He's just a liability at this point." I can sense Yukari's confirmation more than I can actually hear it, but the fact that Ivan dissapears moments later confirms the fact that she did.
With that out of the way I pull out Mima's spellcard and give Rumia something akin to a death glare, and I smile inwardly in grim satisfaction when she unconsciously jerks backwards. "Oi, pest. You've caused me a lot of problems just by being unsealed. Got anything to say in your defense before I vaporize you?" I don't even wait for a response. I declare the card with a whisper spoken to it, at which point a small black-cored gold bullet forms on the end of my gohei.
"Go to hell you red-white pest!" Rumia's panicking to a degree since she has no idea what I'm about to use on her. She's calling forth as much darkness as she can manage, then launches forth a bunch of those extendable arms Yukari was warning me about.
Still, I can't stifle my chuckle as I point my gohei at her. "Don't you know? I'm already there." Without any further reason to delay, I fire.
Something akin to Marisa's Master Spark erupts from the end of my gohei, which Rumia sidesteps, but it became wide enough to fill up the shaft in very short order. Rumia's spell broke since those arms disintegrated before my eyes, but my victory feels very short lived. Mostly because I can tell that I blasted a new hole in Moriya's backyard, and I probably dumped a bunch of crap on Chireidan, which means I'm going to ha
"Oh, so I suppose your next comment will be about how I take even less care of myself than you do?" ...The sad part is that that statement may very well be true. Mokou manages to get all three of her meals in a day, and she doesn't inflict harm on herself pursuing her craft. That could also be because she's virtually immune to her own element but I think it's because she doesn't like being stuck in Eientei any more than I do.
"No, you speak for yourself well enough." Nice to see that you find me so funny bird brain. Sometimes I really wish I had the strength to wipe that cocky smirk off her face, but that wouldn't necessarily be fair to her since I do shoot myself in the foot more often than not.
Lunch ends up being fried meat and sweet potatoes cut into strips, also fried, which is relatively simple. It still tastes quite good since it's been properly prepared. The meat retains its juices while being of an almost perfect texture, the strips of potato have been all but caramelized... As a result, conversation comes to a screeching halt as we eat it all while it's still hot. ...My descriptions come to a halt as well since I don't wish to waste any time on that frivolous act when lunch is best eaten hot. Once that's done...
